When Watching Is No Longer Enough

I run a small constellation of portals that spend their days watching artificial intelligence. WarningX is the one that finally does something about it.

A media world built to watch

Four of my portals point outward at the same fast-moving world, each from its own angle. GAFAM.ai keeps a European eye on the five American giants that increasingly run our digital lives. WatchChina.ai tracks the other pole of the story, the technological rise that too many in the West still prefer to underestimate. warrier.ai stares into the darker half of the machine — the deepfakes, the cloned voices, the industrialised deception that arrives alongside every genuine advance. And kikiriki.ai listens for the human note underneath all of it, asking each day what any of this actually means for the people living through it.

Together they observe, analyse, forecast and reflect. It is, I think, an honest way to cover a subject that is mostly covered dishonestly — with too much hype on one side and too much panic on the other.

But there is a limit to watching.

Watching stops one step short

You can report a threat perfectly and still leave a person defenceless. Analysis explains what happened. Forecasts suggest what might. Neither of them reaches you on the afternoon a voice that sounds exactly like your daughter calls to say she is in trouble and needs money now.

In that moment, no one needs a briefing. They need a warning — clear, timed, and already in hand before the call comes.

That gap, between knowing about a danger and being warned of it in time, is the whole reason WarningX exists.

There is no pill

The idea started as an image. A pill you could take for the day an AI finally comes for you. It makes a good story, and it makes an honest point, because there is no such pill. No tablet protects you from a fabricated voice or a message wearing your bank's face. Anyone selling you one is running the exact trick the project exists to warn about.

What there is, is a list. You are on it, or you are not. And when the day comes — when AI-driven fraud or deception is genuinely moving against people — the list fires.

One message. Then silence again.

Because WarningX is a siren, not a newsletter. It does not want your attention every morning. Most of the time it sends nothing at all, and that silence is not neglect. It is the product.
